Hard Work Campaign

Iṣẹ́ l’ogun iṣẹ́ — Work is the antidote for poverty

Our Hard Work Campaign is built around the well-known Yoruba poem “Iṣẹ l’ogun iṣẹ”, taught to generations of children in Yoruba primary readers. Its message is simple: labour, not inheritance, is what lifts a person up.

The poem urges young people to work hard rather than lean on a parent’s wealth, and reminds them that what is earned through effort tends to last, while what comes easily rarely does.

We recite it at our family sessions in Yoruba with an English explanation, so children hear both the language and the lesson.
